Leadership Owensboro nominations for the class of 2024 are now being accepted. The deadline to apply is July 27 at noon.
The full 2024 session schedule, an online application form, and more information can be found here. All applications must be hand-delivered to the Chamber office at 200 East 3rd Street. Nomination of other individuals and self-nominations are both accepted.
The Leadership Owensboro Program is run by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce. Each year, individuals are selected through a competitive application process.
“Leadership Owensboro continues its tradition as the Chamber’s proven talent development program” said Candance Castlen Brake, Chamber President and CEO. “The program continues to cultivate leaders and expose them to challenges and opportunities in our community. Each class inspires us with their drive and commitment to make Owensboro a better place.”
The Leadership Owensboro Curriculum Committee, comprising regional community leaders, meets regularly to build agendas for the program with the goal of educating the class as much as possible on relevant and timely topics.
“Leadership Owensboro is a truly enriching program,” said Ashtin Warren, Chamber of Commerce Director of Talent Programs. “The program provides the opportunity to enhance leadership skills, gain knowledge about relevant community issues, and even form lifelong friendships and connections. Participants engage in thought-provoking class discussions, hear from knowledgeable speakers, and are immersed in eye-opening session excursions.”
Leadership Owensboro has an alumni base of more than 1,000 civic, business and education leaders.
In addition to attending sessions, class members complete assignments and participate in community meetings and events to meet their graduation requirements.
