A collision between a pick-up truck and a school bus with 27 children aboard resulted in both drivers being taken to the hospital for injuries Thursday afternoon, according to Daviess County Sheriff’s Office. No children were injured.
Sheriff Brad Youngman said the school bus was unloading a child on the 7700 block of KY 81 when the truck driver rear-ended the bus.
“The child was thrown to the ground as a result; however, he is OK,” Youngman said.
Both drivers were taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for suspected injuries. Contributing factors leading to the collision are still under investigation.
The roadway has reopened.
