The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office located illegal narcotics and a large sum of money following a high-speed chase that ended on the county’s west side. Officials charged the driver, Jacob J. Lawrence of San Diego, CA, with fleeing or evading police 1st degree, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, reckless driving, and speeding 26 MPH over the speed limit.

At 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, Central Dispatch extended a Be on the Lookout (BOLO) to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office regarding a pursuit approaching Daviess County from Henderson County. The BOLO advised deputies that the pursuit began in Union County and passed through Henderson.

Deputies were advised that spikes had been deployed, and the subject continued to travel at high rates of speed with no front tires, potentially ramming police vehicles in Henderson County.

Daviess County deputies joined the chase at the intersection of KY-60W and Covington Ridge Dr, continuing to the junction of KY-60W and Worthington Rd. when the subject turned into the Audubon Elementary School parking lot.

After turning in, the subject nearly struck a deputy head-on, causing damage to the school property. He then took the vehicle off-road, through the schoolyard, at which point it became inoperable, and officers could retain the subject and take him into custody.
