Six men from Daviess County were officially inducted into the KY Veterans Hall of Fame Class of 2023 over the weekend. A total of 29 former military personnel were honored for their community leadership and volunteerism since leaving the military service.
KVHOF honored the nominees at ceremonies on Friday and Saturday at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lexington. A Grand Gala Dinner on the Friday highlighted each inductee’s military service. The formal induction ceremony was held on Saturday morning.
Local veterans selected are:
- Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Jeremy Camron, U.S. Navy (War on Terror)
- Master Sergeant Louis Drawdy, U.S. Marine Corps (Vietnam)
- Master Sergeant James Goodall, U.S. Army (Cold War, Desert Storm)
- Captain Jerry Rhoads, U.S. Army (Cold War/Vietnam Era)
- Staff Sergeant Glenn Skeens, U.S. Marine Corps (Gulf War)
- Technical Sergeant Michael Walker, U.S. Air Force (Desert Storm/Desert Shield)
An official Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame plaque bearing inductee names will join earlier class plaques permanently displayed in the Kentucky Capitol building, in the first-floor hall near the Secretary of State’s office. The names will also be added to regional KVHOF monuments placed around Kentucky. The Region 7 KY Veterans Hall of Fame monument is located along the Mayor’s Mile in Owensboro.
