The 5th Annual Cruise-In and Car Show returns to the Whitesville City Park on this Saturday. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to all vehicles, with a $20 entry fee.

Participants can register any time before Saturday and are guaranteed a T-shirt and entry into a special drawing during the event. Organizers promise $100 door prizes every hour along with other offerings every 15 minutes.

Frankie Fulkerson started the show with Greg Beyke 6 years ago at Beyke’s house, growing it steadily each year. They quickly knew they needed a more prominent location and moved it to the park.

“I have an old car, and I just love doing this,” Fulkerson said. “It’s great to see the community come together, and it’s also an opportunity for the schools and Lions Club to raise funds to benefit the community.”

Fulkerson said the Lions Club will be dishing out hamburgers, hotdogs, lemon shakeups, and more. He added that St. Mary’s and Trinity will have a bake and candy sale to raise funds for the new school building.

“This is the first year we’ve had pre-registration,” he said. “We typically have between 60 and 70 cars. This year, we already have 50 pre-registered, and we expect well over 100 vehicles in the competition.”

Fulkerson stated that all competitors should enter at the main entrance to the park, while spectators should enter through the entrance adjacent to the Whitesville Fire Department.
