DCSO obtains handgun, drug paraphernalia from juvenile

Daviess County Sheriff’s Office inspected a home on East 5th Street and found a handgun, high capacity magazine and various drug paraphernalia, among other items that belonged to a juvenile, according to DCSO officials.

Sheriff’s office reports the DCPS Police Department aided them after the juvenile was said to be in possession of firearms. At this time, there is no evidence the juvenile had brought any firearms on school properties.

During the search, they found the following items: a loaded handgun with an extended high-capacity magazine, additional ammunition, another loaded handgun magazine, empty holsters, suspected marijuana, THC vaping devices, pipes, and various other drug paraphernalia inside the juvenile’s bedroom, DCSO reports.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected. The juvenile is being held in the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.

They are charged with the following:

  • Possession of Marijuana (Firearm Enhancement)
  • Possession of a Handgun by a Minor 1st Offense
  • Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess (Firearm Enhancement)
