OPD: Man injured in shooting late Saturday night; one arrest made

Update – 12:14 p.m.: A Saturday night shooting led to one adult victim with non-life-threatening injuries and one arrest, according to Owensboro Police Department.

OPD reported that at 10:23 p.m., they responded to a shooting at the intersection of West 2nd Street and River Road. Officers found the adult male victim, who had two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. The victim was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After detectives conducted interviews, the OPD said they continued their investigation and were able to obtain a description of the suspect and the vehicle.

After two hours, OPD reports they were able to locate Yeh’oshua Millay, 34, of Owensboro, at a residence on E. 17th Street.

Millay was arrested and is currently held in Daviess County Detention Center with the following charges:

  • Assault 1st Degree
  • Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

An adult male was injured in a shooting that occurred at West 2nd Street and River Road late Saturday night, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

The victim was transported to the ER at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital but the extent of injuries were unknown at the time of publication.

Detectives from the OPD Criminal Investigation Division responded and the investigation is ongoing.
