Advanced Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine will be moving into its new facility in mid-November. The clinic will be located in the former Kmart building — which has undergone major renovations and upgrades — in Wesleyan Park Plaza.
The current Advance location at 2831 New Hartford Road will be closed on November 17-18, and the new facility at 2780 Frederica Street will open on November 20.
In November, all 10 of the specialty-trained doctors at Advanced will move their services into the new clinic.
After renovations to the building, Advanced is using the second floor strictly for office spaces, enabling the first floor to be dedicated entirely to orthopedic equipment. The facility allows Advanced to expand its walk-in clinics and therapy space, and they are adding state-of-the-art MRI and X-ray equipment. Officials with the company have also noted the new locations in more centralized and offers more parking.
“At Advanced Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, we are dedicated to providing the exceptional level of care our patients have come to trust, and we look forward to remaining a part of the Owensboro community for years to come,” said Dr. Charles Milem, board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Advanced Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. “We are excited to move into our new building to provide the same specialized treatment in a larger, more modern facility to better serve our patients.”
The local orthopedic institution was established in 1962 and has expanded and evolved over the last 60-plus years. The specialty-trained doctors offer care for bone, joint, and muscle injuries and conditions in Daviess County and the surrounding area.
