DCSO: Juvenile turns himself in; faces drug, weapon charges relating to Thursday’s operation

A juvenile turned himself in Friday morning and is facing drug and weapon charges in relation to the search warrants executed Thursday, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

Five people, all between the ages of 20 and 27, were arrested Thursday when search warrants were executed following a long-term investigation. Search locations included the 700 block of Elm Street and the 2200 block of West 9th Street, according to DCSO.

Sheriff Brad Youngman said the juvenile suspect was not present at the time the search warrants were executed but turned himself in to the Owensboro Police Department at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday. The juvenile was transported to the Daviess County Courthouse by a DCSO Patrol Unit before being arrested and transported to the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center. 

According to DCSO, the juvenile was charged with:

  • Aggravated Trafficking in a Controlled Substance > 28 Grams of Fentanyl (Enhanced) 
  • Trafficking in Marijuana (Enhanced) 
  • Drug Paraphernalia (Buy/Possess) (Enhanced) 
  • Possession of a Handgun by a Minor, 2nd or Greater Offense 

Per state law, the juvenile’s name cannot be released at this time. 

The investigation remains ongoing and more charges are expected, according to DCSO.
