Update 1:34 p.m., November 27: Daviess County Coroner’s Office has identified the body as Stephanie Green, 40 of Huntsville, Alabama, according to Owensboro Police Department.
Green was observed with an apparent gunshot wound when OPD arrived on scene. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division along with members of the Evidence Collection Unit (ECU) and Daviess County Coroner’s Office responded to investigate, OPD reported.
OPD said this is an ongoing investigation.

Original story: A 40-year-old woman was pronounced dead on scene after a shooting Wednesday night on Orchard Street, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
Public Information Officer Dylan Evans said OPD responded to a shooting call in the 500 block of Orchard Street at approximately 8 p.m.
Evans spoke briefly but provided little more information during a live video interview just before 10:30 p.m. (Watch that interview here.)
The female victim — whose identity had not been released as of Wednesday night — was found dead with a gunshot wound upon OPD’s arrival, Evans said.
The investigation is ongoing. As of Wednesday evening, OPD had not released any information about a potential suspect or the events leading up to the shooting.
