The inaugural ROMP & Roll Record Show will take place in June 2024, giving vinyl records lovers something extra to do during the annual ROMP Festival activities. The show will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center from June 26-29.
Presented by For The Record Vinyl in conjunction with Visit Owensboro, the show will feature 100 tables filled with music items including new and used LPs, 45s CDs, cassettes, memorabilia, posters storage supplies, and more. All music items will include various genres, from bluegrass, Americana, and country to classic rock, pop, metal, prog rock, ’80s hits, and more.
“Whether you are new to vinyl or have been collecting for decades, you will feel right at home at this event,” said Jeremy D. Bonfiglio, For The Record founder and event organizer. “Our shows are much more than a retail marketplace. They are designed to celebrate a vibrant community that is passionate about music.”
Bonfiglio said their vendors are collectors who understand the quest for the record they’ve been looking for or discovering music they didn’t expect to find. Organizers compared the event to going to a record store and sifting through bins.
Owensboro’s Terry Woodward emphasized the environment that will come from this event with his experience selling records as the owner of Wax Works, Inc.
“Bringing a vinyl record show to Owensboro is a great idea,” he said. “It’s hard to believe that I was selling vinyl at its peak in the ’70s, and here we are 50 years later, and it’s still a hot-selling item. I can’t keep Taylor Swift and Frank Sinatra vinyl in stock.”
Tickets for the show will go on sale in December with VIP Early Entry tickets starting at $25 for all 3 days and 8 extra shopping hours. General admission for a 2-day pass will be $10 and a single-day ticket will be $5.
Vendor registration also will open in December. Visit FTRVinyl.com/recordshows/rompandroll for details or email Bonfiglio at [email protected].
