Jennifer Besecker officially filed to run for re-election as Daviess County Circuit Court Clerk after 6 years of working in the position. The local seat will be on the 2024 general election.

Besecker, who has now worked in the Circuit Court system for more than 25 years, was sworn into the position in December 2018.

Besecker declined to comment about filing to run for the office at this time, but in a Facebook post announcing her candidacy she gave credit to the staff in her office.

“I couldn’t do this job without my amazing staff who have supported me over the last 6 years in office,” she said. “I hope to continue serving Daviess County for many more years.”

As Circuit Clerk, part of Besecker’s duties include managing all civil and criminal filings, pooling and calling of a jury, and managing the Circuit Clerk’s office.
