Update, 10:45 p.m. – The Owensboro Police Department confirmed that a body recovered from inside a vehicle pulled from the Ohio River on Friday belonged to 83-year-old Johnny Goodman, who was reported missing earlier this week.
OPD Public Information Officer Dylan Evans said Friday night that officers reviewed video footage that showed a vehicle go into the river from the English Park boat ramp just after midnight on Wednesday morning.
The vehicle was recovered Friday night and was confirmed as belonging to Goodman. Evans said Goodman’s body was found inside the vehicle.
Also responding to the recovery efforts Friday were the Owensboro Fire Department, Ohio County Fire Department, Ohio County and Henderson County dive teams, and Daviess County Emergency Management, and Tri-state towing.
Goodman had previously been declared missing after last being seen Tuesday evening.
