The esteemed Evansville United Volleyball Club is hosting its 2024 Presidents’ Day Volleyball Tournament at the Owensboro Convention Center on February 17-18. The tournament will be under the direction of Fernando Morales, a distinguished figure in the volleyball realm.
“This tournament is not just an opportunity for young athletes to display their skills but also a chance for spectators to witness exciting and thrilling competition,” organizers said in a release about the event, which is for players ages 11-15.
Morales is the owner of the Evansville club and serves as Head Volleyball Coach at the University of Evansville.
He boasts 19 years of national and international playing experience. That includes serving as a national team captain in Puerto Rico and being a 3-time pro league champion. Morales has accumulated numerous awards in his career, including a silver medal in the 2008 Olympic Qualifiers, and played in the 2007 World Cup.
