Several residents have received scam calls alleging Judge Lisa Jones has issued a warrant for their arrest, and Jones says this is another scam tactic and asks for callers to use caution.
Jones said that the caller introduces themselves as Captain Duane Harper with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and begins to direct the person on the line to either turn themselves in for arrest or pay a bond.
“This is not a legitimate call. Warrants are not issued for failure to appear for jury duty, and bonds are not paid by phone or email or wire transfer via Kroger,” Jones said.
DCSO also made a notice about the phone calls confirming it to be a scam.
