KSP: Daviess County man charged with child sexual exploitation offenses

The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch has arrested a 29-year-old Daviess County man on charges related to child sexual exploitation offenses.

According to a release, Corey James Jarboe was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.

“The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect using electronic means to procure a minor online,” according to the release. “The investigation resulted in an interview in Bowling Green on February 2, 2024. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.”

The investigation is ongoing.

Jarboe is currently charged with one count of procuring a minor by electronic means and one count of distribution of obscene matter to minors, according to KSP. Procuring a minor by electronic means is a Class D felony punishable by 1-5 years in prison. Distribution of obscene matter to minors is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to 12 months in jail.

Jarboe was booked into the Warren County Detention Center on Friday.

The Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is comprised of more than 26 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The mission of the ICAC Task Force, created by the United States Department of Justice and administrated by the Kentucky State Police, is to assist state and local law enforcement agencies in developing a response to cyber enticement and child sexual abuse material investigations.
