Nearly 40 local restaurants will be participating in the 2024 Owensboro Burger Week, an event set for March 1-9 and designed to showcase signature burgers from eateries throughout the city and county.
Each of the 39 restaurants will offer a featured burger for $7. It is up to the restaurant to include tax in the price, as some have it built in while others don’t.
“We started Burger Week with the goal of helping our local restaurants stay afloat during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here we are 4 years later continuing to celebrate the hard work our restaurants put in to make this culinary spectacular keep going,” said Dave Kirk, Visit Owensboro Destination Management.

Burger Week is a partnership between Visit Owensboro and the City of Owensboro, with sponsors including the Kentucky Beef Council, German American Bank, Green River Appliance, and Hill View Farms Meats.
Participating restaurants will compete for bragging rights as the “best burger” determined by an independent group of judges. Throughout the week, the featured burgers will be randomly purchased from each participating restaurant and judges will score each burger experience based on numerous categories.
New this year is the German American Bank People’s Choice Award. Participants who partake in Owensboro Burger Week will get to vote on their favorite. More information on how to vote will be announced later.
Customers who use the hashtag #owensboroburgerweek when taking a picture of themselves eating a burger at 3 or more participating restaurants throughout the week on Facebook or Instagram will also be entered into a prize drawing for 2 prizes. First place will receive a Mini Green Egg Max from Green River Appliance, and second place will receive a barbecue grilling meats package from Hill View Farms Meats.
