Several in Owensboro, Daviess County, and across the country are without cellular service at the moment. The outage hit thousands of AT&T users, disrupting calls, text messages, and even emergency services.
“We are aware of a large-scale cell service outage affecting approximately 31,000 AT&T customers,” Daviess County Emergency Management said in a statement this morning. “Our current 911/emergency services infrastructure is stable and operational. We will update as necessary.”
The Owensboro Times will continue to update this story.
Update 8:25 a.m. – The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) reports the outage across all 3 major carriers, with AT&T experiencing most of the issues. They said this could impact reaching 911 and advised people to use a landline if possible.
KOHS also reports as of 7 a.m. ET that AT&T service is being restored.
