Tree seedlings are being given away on Thursday by the Daviess County Conservation District.
The event will take place at Yellow Creek Park (5710 KY 144) from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., or while supplies last.
This year’s tree seedlings include Persimmon, Yellow Poplar, Black Walnut, Cherrybark Oak, Pecan, Shagbark Hickory, White Oak, Pin Oak, Kentucky Coffeetree, Chestnut Oak, Swamp White Oak, and White Pine.
The seedlings are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are limited to 10 per person.
“That way we can give enough to an individual but also still have plenty to give to our residents in Daviess County,” Dwayne Sandefur with the County Conservation District said previously.
By planting trees, organizers hope to better the environment throughout the community.
