Celtic Thunder — an Irish singing group and stage show known for its eclectic, theatrical style show — is coming to the RiverPark Center this October.

The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on October 11. Tickets are available online now at Ticketmaster.com and at the RiverPark Center Box Office.

Formed in Dublin in 2007, Celtic Thunder has been named by Billboard magazine the Top World Album Artist five times (in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016) while the group has had LPs placed in the World Album Top 10 every release year since 2008.

According to a release about their performance “Odyssey,” Celtic Thunder “invites audiences on a sweeping voyage through the heartlands of traditional Irish music, the rhythmic pulse of contemporary Irish music, and the innovative original arrangements that are emblematic of the ensemble’s unique sound. The shared musical chemistry of Celtic Thunder’s lead vocalists Emmet Cahill, Damian McGinty, Neil Byrne, and Ronan Scolard, gives the show its compelling power, while each singer adds their distinctive voice and charm to this musical journey, creating a harmonious blend that appeals to a broad spectrum of tastes.”

The Odyssey songbook is steeped in their Irish heritage and weaves a rich tapestry of emotional and musical tones.

The release says audiences “will be captivated by the dynamic and beautiful rendition of ‘One More Day’ infusing new life into the traditional folk song with vibrant harmonies and fresh interpretations, while ‘City of Chicago’ stands as a poignant tribute to the Irish diaspora, weaving heartfelt lyrics with evocative melodies.”

A standout moment is their rendition of “The Parting Glass,” an iconic classic from the annals of Irish music
