Matthew Howard, 37, of Owensboro, was arrested and charged with 10 counts of possession and 2 counts of distribution of child pornography, according to Owensboro Police Department.
OPD received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). This led to multiple search warrants identifying Howard as the possible suspect.
The department, alongside Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, executed a warrant at Howard’s home, resulting in the seizure and recovery of evidence of child sexual abuse material.
Howard was arrested and is lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center on the following charges:
- Possession or Viewing of Matter Portraying a sexual performance by a Minor Under 12 (10 counts)
- Distribution of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor Under 12, 1st Offense (2 counts)
OPD reports this ongoing investigation may lead to other perpetrators or additional charges.
