Oak View Group, the venue management provider for the Owensboro Convention Center, recently received the Prime Site Award from “Facilities and Destinations” magazine. This marks the 11th time the venue has received the honor.
Convention Center officials recently said the facility ended the year in the black for the second time since it opened 10 years ago, turning around a profit of approximately $140,000 after a record 19 conventions and more than 200 events throughout the 2023-24 fiscal year.
“Facilities and Destinations” is a quarterly trade publication serving the meetings and events industry. The Prime Site Awards, which have been bestowed annually since 1994, are primarily voted on by association and corporate meeting planners, as well as tradeshow professionals.

Tim Ross, Director of Public Events for the City of Owensboro, emphasized the Owensboro Convention Center’s commitment to surpassing client expectations.
“Since our opening over a decade ago, our aim has been to be recognized among the nation’s premier convention centers. Receiving the Prime Site Award once more underscores our staff’s dedication to excellence and our collaborative approach with every event host,” Ross said.
