Two people sustained minor injuries after a vehicle was struck by a train in east Daviess County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
According to DCSO, the accident occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. in the 8400 block of KY 2830, near Halls Auto Sales near Maceo.
The vehicle had been traveling northbound coming out of a private drive when it crossed the railroad tracks and was struck by the westbound train, officials said.
Two occupants of the car were transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital by AMR ambulance with minor injuries.
The train was released from the scene at approximately 2 p.m. The scene will be cleared momentarily.
