The FBI’s Louisville Division is seeking information in a healthcare fraud investigation. The investigation involves Addiction Recovery Care, LLC, a substance abuse treatment provider that has an Owensboro location. No criminal charges have been brought against ARC at this time, and the FBI has provided a form asking people to submit any information that may be relevant to the investigation.
According to a release, the FBI is legally mandated to identify victims of federal crimes it investigates.
“Victims may be eligible for certain services, restitution, and rights under federal and/or state law,” the release reads. “Your responses are voluntary but may be useful in the federal investigation and to identify you as a potential victim. Based on the responses provided, you may be contacted by the FBI and asked to provide additional information. All identities of victims will be kept confidential.”
Those who believe they were victimized by ARC or have information relevant to the investigation are asked to fill out this form.
Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) is headquartered in Louisa, Kentucky. According to their website, ARC “offers a full continuum of care including detox, residential, transitional, intensive outpatient, outpatient, medically assisted treatment (MAT), vocational rehabilitation, and job training.”
ARC’s website says the provider operates a network of more than 30 licensed addiction treatment centers across central and eastern Kentucky.
Their treatment center in Owensboro, which is formally named the Yellow Banks Recovery Center, was their first in western Kentucky.
Owensboro Times reached out to ARC for comment, including asking specifically if the Owensboro location was part of the investigation or if the local facility or its services was affected in any way.
Kyle Collier, ARC Director of Communications, did not directly address the questions about Owensboro but sent the following statement via email:
“We have recently learned that there is a federal investigation into ARC. As we all know, healthcare is one of the most highly regulated fields in the country, and addiction treatment is among the most highly scrutinized healthcare services. ARC is a trailblazer in the field of addiction services. We are confident in our program and in the services we offer. We, and our legal counsel, are cooperating fully in the investigation.”
