A few days after winning the Lady Scottie Invitational, Daviess County’s Claire Reynolds finished second at the Hopkinsville Invitational. She shot a 72, just one stoke more than winner Katie Roberts. Returning to action, Alexa Salamah finished sixth overall, shooting a 75.
“Claire did a great job of navigating a tough course and finishing second overall,” head coach Jonas Billingsley said. “It was great to see Alexa in action today and she ended up finishing 6th.”
Overall, Daviess County finished third, shooting a 322 – one stroke more than second-place Bowling Green.
“This was nice preparation for the first round of state competition later this fall,” Billingsley said.
Briley and Baylie Billingsley shot a 86 and 89 respectively, while Macey Roberts recorded a 100.
“Baylie had a few setbacks today and put herself in some tough spots – above the flag at Hopkinsville is no place to score well from,” Billingsley said. “We are improving and learning which is great. I was excited to see Briley manage to settle in after a couple of trouble holes. Macy was right on the verge of breaking 100.”
For Trinity (Whitesville), Rylee Hayden shot a 110.
