DCSO: 3 arrested after investigation leads to recovery of drugs, firearm

Three people have been arrested after a narcotics trafficking investigation led to the discovery of drugs and a firearm, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

According to DCSO, investigators with the DCSO Special Investigations Unit (SIU), General Investigations Unit, and Patrol Division executed a search warrant on Tuesday at the home of Rebecca Denson in the 1200 block of Helga Court. 

Denson was developed as a suspect by SIU Detectives based off information received by the community, according to the release. During the search warrant, detectives located and seized evidence of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation including methamphetamine, marijuana, several doses of LSD, heroin containing fentanyl, fentanyl pills, glass pipes used for smoking narcotics, and a loaded 9mm handgun, per the release. All evidence was logged into property at DCSO. 

Denson was previously arrested on September 24 by the SIU during a search warrant operation at the same residence.  Multiple suspects were arrested and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center as a result of this operation, according to DCSO.

According to DCSO, the following individuals were charged: Rebecca Denson, 33, of the 1200 block of Helga Court, Owensboro; Justin R. Bowlds, 26, of the 2900 block of US 62 East, Beaver Dam; and Derwin E. White, 31, of the 1200 block of Helga Court, Owensboro.

They all face the following charges:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st offense (fentanyl) (while armed)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense (meth) (while armed)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense (LSD) (while armed)
  • Trafficking marijuana, 1st offense (while armed)
  • Drug paraphernalia buy/possess (while armed)

Bowlds and White face the additional charge of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
