The Owensboro Symphony will open its 59th season this weekend with a haunting mix of music for the Symphony Spooktacular. The concert will begin conductor Troy Quinn’s eighth season, continuing his reputation for delivering engaging and dynamic programs.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. at the RiverPark Center.
The Symphony Spooktacular will feature a lineup of eerie and thrilling works, including Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Paul Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and Bernard Herrmann’s Psycho Suite. The program will also feature Brahms’ Symphony No. 1, offering a close to the evening’s performance.
“From the moment the music begins, you’ll be on the edge of your seat,” Quinn said.
Attendees can join Quinn for a Behind the Music discussion from 6:15-6:40 p.m. in Cannon Hall. Sponsored by Baird – The Settle Group, the pre-concert talk will provide insight into the evening’s program and the musicians performing.
Wyatt is the Symphony Spooktacular’s premiere sponsor, with additional support from community partners Martina Temple and the Margaret Holbrook Estate.
Single tickets for the Symphony Spooktacular are $64.25 and $54, with student tickets available for $16. Ticket prices include the RiverPark Center’s box office fee. Tickets can be purchased by calling 270-684-0661, visiting OwensboroSymphony.org, or stopping by the RiverPark Center Box Office at 101 Daviess Street in Owensboro.
