Thursday’s Rooster Booster breakfast will feature a Mayoral forum, and the Chamber Young Professionals will be accepting Halloween costume donations that will be given to local youth.
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Owensboro Convention Center (501 West Second Street) in Exhibit Hall One. The program is sponsored by Owensboro Community and Technical College.
The cost to attend is $15 for Chamber members with reservations, $20 for members with no reservations, and $25 for non-members. Reservations include breakfast, which will be served buffet-style at the beginning of the event.
The Mayoral forum, featuring candidates Tom Watson and Pam Smith-Wright, will be moderated by Jared Revlett, Owensboro Public Schools Public Information Officer.
“A primary goal of our Chamber is to be a catalyst for economic growth. Civic engagement is a key component of strong and bustling communities,” said Candance Castlen Brake, President and CEO of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce. “The Mayoral race is extremely important to the community’s future. The occupant of the office sets the tone for our community and can guide many important discussions. It is of critical importance that our community understand the platforms of those running for Mayor. The Chamber is proud to create this opportunity for the candidates and for the voters.”
The Chamber Young Professionals will be accepting new and/or gently used Halloween costume donations at the registration tables. All costumes will be donated to local elementary school students.
