Update, October 31 — A third person has been arrested following an investigation that resulted in the seizure of meth, guns, and more earlier this month, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a release, DCSO SIU detectives returned to the residence in the 700 block of Gunther Avenue on October 30 to arrest Michael Edward Hollingsworth, Jr., who was not at home at the time of the original search warrant on October 24.
“During the arrest, Hollingsworth was found to be in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. Also located in the residence was a loaded 9mm handgun, a glass plate with methamphetamine on it, a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue, marijuana, (and) digital scales, and a pound of marijuana was found in Hollingsworth’s vehicle,” according to DCSO.
All evidence was logged into property at DCSO. Hollingsworth, 47, was arrested and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center on the following charges, according to DCSO:
- Trafficking Controlled Substance – 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Meth) (While Armed)
- Possession of Marijuana (While Armed)
- Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess (While Armed)
- Possession Controlled Substance – 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Meth)(While Armed)
- Trafficking in Marijuana (8 oz to < 5 lbs), 1st Offense (While Armed)
- Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess (While Armed)

October 25 — Two people are facing numerous drug- and weapon-related charges following the seizure of meth, guns, and more during a search on Thursday morning, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a release, investigators with the DCSO Special Investigations Unit, General Investigations Unit, K-9 Unit, and Patrol Division executed a search warrant at the home of MaryAnn Taylor in the 700 block of Gunther Avenue as part of a narcotics trafficking investigation.
Taylor was developed as a possible drug trafficking suspect by SIU Detectives based off information received by the community, according to DCSO.
“During the search warrant, detectives located and seized evidence of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation including methamphetamine, marijuana, multiple baggies used to package narcotics, digital scales, U.S. currency, two large bottles of gabapentin, syringes, glass pipes used for smoking illegal narcotics, a loaded 9mm handgun, boxes of ammunition, and a ‘sawed off’ shotgun,” per the release.
All evidence was seized and logged into property at DCSO.
Also present at the residence at the time of the search warrant operation was a subject named Frankie Johnson, according to DCSO.
Both Johnson and Taylor had active arrest warrants. Both were arrested and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center.

- Failure to Appear Warrant on (14 counts) of Theft by Deception under $500.00
- Probation Violation Warrant on Possession Controlled Substance (Meth)
- Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
- Giving Officer False Identifying Information
- Numerous traffic violation charges
