The Owensboro Police Department is investigating a firearm discharge that occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on November 1.
According to OPD, officers responded to reports of a firearm discharge in the 400 block of Catalina Drive.
“According to initial reports, an altercation involving several intoxicated individuals escalated when one person brandished a handgun and discharged a single round. The suspect then fled the scene,” according to OPD. “No injuries were reported during the incident. When officers arrived on scene multiple individuals fled the area.”
Detectives from the OPD Criminal Investigations Division were called to the scene to continue the investigation.
