A local 13-year-old female student has been charged for threatening a school shooting, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
The OPD School Resource Officer was alerted Monday afternoon to a social media post threatening a school shooting, according to a release.
“In response, the OPD Criminal Investigations Division (CID) worked to assess the origins and credibility of this threat; the second reported threat of the day,” OPD said.
Detectives identified and charged a 13-year-old female student with second-degree terroristic threatening. She was lodged in a Louisville juvenile facility Monday afternoon.
