An adult male was hospitalized after a shooting late Tuesday night in Owensboro, according to a statement from the Owensboro Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 300 block of Whittier Drive around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 24. When they arrived, they found the man with a gunshot wound to his back. He was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for treatment, police said.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are handling the case. Authorities are asking anyone with information to call OPD at 270-687-8888 or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.
