The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office has extended the 2024 property tax collection period until the close of business on Monday due to the recent weather-related closure of the County Courthouse.
This extension only applies to property tax bills sent in November, and it does not apply to payments made online.
Per Kentucky law, property tax bills still unpaid after 4:30 p.m. on January 13 must be marked as delinquent and are subject to a 5% penalty.
DCSO is also reminding residents that law enforcement will never call to take payment for anything over the phone.
