A 36-year-old Daviess County man has been arrested for 68 counts related to possession and distribution of child porn, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to a release, an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force detective with the OPD Criminal Investigations Division received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding child sexual abuse material.
OPD’s investigation led to Corey Mattingly as the suspect. Mattingly was taken into custody and detectives executed a search warrant in the 6000 block of KY 1389, according to OPD. Mattingly was subsequently arrested and lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center on the following:
- Distribution of Matter Portraying Sex Performance by Minor under 12 (20 counts)
- Possess Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by Minor under 12 (20 counts)
- Distribution of Matter Portraying Sex Performance by Minor over 12 (14 counts)
- Possession of Matter Portraying Sex Performance by Minor over 12 (14 counts)
“Specially trained detectives with the Owensboro Police Department ICAC task force will continue to target individuals who prey on children. These types of investigations may lead to the identification of other child predators or additional charges,” the OPD release says.
