School systems in the area have announced updates regarding closures and NTI days for Monday due to the numerous roads that remain flooded.
Daviess County Public Schools
DCPS made the following announcement shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 6.
DCPS Family,
We were eager to welcome our students back from Spring Break to begin learning, but the weather had other plans. Due to the road conditions from flooding with 57 roads being partially or entirely closed, DCPS schools will be closed for in-person learning on Monday, April 7, 2025. This will be a DCPS@Home Day. Elementary students will log in with their teacher on Google Meet at 9 a.m. and refer to their pre-printed packets or visit www.dcps.org/athome for their DAY #7 assignments. Middle and high school students will follow the Google Meet schedule provided by their teachers. Assignments for DAY #7 are posted at www.dcps.org/athome.
Elementary Students
Due to Spring Break, elementary students do not have Chromebooks and chargers. Teachers will still be available at 9 AM for a Google Meet. Schools will send out instructions for how to join Google Meets via Talking Points. If possible, you may use an alternate device (phone or personal computer) to log in to Google Meet but this is not a requirement. Our teachers are available for any support or guidance throughout the day and will be checking in with families throughout the day.
