Apollo and Daviess County both won, while Hancock County, Owensboro, Owensboro Catholic, and Trinity (Whitesville) all fell short.

Apollo 8, Henderson County 7

Ryleigh Logan went 3-4 with a homer in the Eagles’ 8-7 win over Henderson County. The Colonels scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth, but Apollo was able to escape the jam. Grayson Smith went 1-4 with two RBIs, while Ty Lillpop, Geordyn Stevens, Ross Millburn, and Garrett Lanham all drove in runs. Jackson Carder started on the mound, allowing one run over five innings, while Isaac James and Lanham both pitched in relief.

Daviess County 5, Grayson County 1

Noah Ranburger went 1-4 with three RBIs to power the Panthers past Grayson County 5-1. Sean Page went 2-3 with an RBI, while Masson Russelburg also drove in a run. Brodie Tucker was lights out, allowing one run over six innings, while Weston Lawrence pitched a perfect seventh.

Ohio County 6, Hancock County 5

Leading 5-4 entering the bottom of the sixth, the Hornets were unable to close it out, losing to Ohio County 6-5. Louden Fluharty and Lane Dixon both drove in a pair of runs, while Porter Hay, Carson Clark, and Jack Roberts combined for eight hits. Fluharty started on the mound, allowing three earned runs over four innings, while Clark pitched in relief.

Breckinridge County 4, Owensboro 1

The Red Devils gave up four runs in the bottom of the fourth and were unable to fully recover, losing to Breckinridge County 4-1. Blake Kimbrell went 2-2 with an RBI, while Will Rickard and Evan Hampton had the team’s only other hits. Nash Miller started on the mound, allowing four runs over 3 1/3 innings, while Jaxon Fogle, Trevor DeLacey, and Brayden Toler all pitched out of the bullpen.

Madisonville North Hopkins 11, Owensboro Catholic 10

After scoring four runs in the top of the seventh, the Aces were unable to close it out, losing to Madisonville North Hopkins 11-10. Brady Atwell, Jake Murphy, and Parker Heistand combined for four hits and seven RBIs, while Jaxson White went 2-5. Lane Hundley gave up one earned run over four innings, while White and Luke Quinn pitched in relief.

Hopkins County Central 8, Trinity (Whitesville) 1

Isaac Hernandez went 1-3 and scored the Raiders’ lone run in their 8-1 loss to Hopkins County Central. Harrison Barnett and Grant Howard had the team’s only other hits. RJ Cecil started on the mound, allowing three earned runs over 4 1/3 innings, while Cale Boarman relieved him.
