A Thruston man was arrested Saturday following an investigation into a shooting reported Thursday night in the 5500 block of KY 144, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
According to DCSO, deputies responded around 9:45 p.m. on May 1 to a reported disturbance at the residence. The homeowner told deputies that 61-year-old Christopher Claypool had been a guest in the home but was asked to leave after an argument. The resident told authorities that a few minutes later, he heard several gunshots outside and that bullets entered the room he was in, causing damage to the walls and other items. No injuries were reported.
DCSO said that patrol deputies searched for Claypool, who lives nearby, but were initially unable to locate him. Detectives with the General Investigations Unit responded to the scene, and search warrants were executed at Claypool’s home and other locations. Authorities say several drugs and drug-related items were seized and logged into evidence.
On May 2, deputies received information on Claypool’s location and apprehended him shortly afterward, the release says. He was taken to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office for questioning, then lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center on the following charges:
