Residents in Daviess County impacted by the severe storms and flooding that began on April 2 are now eligible to apply for FEMA assistance and can visit a newly opened Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Stanley for in-person support.
The center is located at the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department (159 KY 1554) and will operate Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 7 p.m. Visitors are asked to park in front of the building.
FEMA’s Individual Assistance program is now available to homeowners and renters in numerous Kentucky counties, including Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Muhlenberg, and Ohio. This expansion follows a federal major disaster declaration and provides aid for those with disaster-related damage or loss.
Eligible residents can apply for assistance online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by using the FEMA mobile app, by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (7 a.m.–10 p.m. ET), or by visiting a DRC. The deadline to apply is June 25.
FEMA’s aid may include grants for temporary housing, home repairs, personal property replacement, vehicle repair, and other critical needs such as medical expenses and childcare.
To apply in person, individuals should bring the following:
- Address with ZIP code
- Description of home damage
- Insurance information (if available)
- Social Security number
- Phone number
- Current mailing address and email
- Household income details
- Bank account information for direct deposit
The DRC staff can help with the application process, answer questions, and submit documentation to FEMA. For more on disaster recovery assistance, visit fema.gov/disaster/4864.
