Extra patrols have been scheduled for Whitesville, and law enforcement is asking for help in a case where an assault at the former Black Cat Bar sent one person to the hospital, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
A release from DCSO says that deputies responded Wednesday to a report of an assault in the 11000 block of KY 54 in Whitesville. Signage at the location says Rooster’s Crow.
According to DCSO, patrol deputies secured the scene and requested detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division to respond. A canvass of the area was conducted, and the evidence collected will be processed at the Kentucky State Police Lab.
Authorities said the victim was treated at the scene by members of the Daviess County and Whitesville fire departments before being transported by AMR Ambulance Service to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
Detectives from the General and Forensic investigations units are handling the case. Other agencies assisting include the Kentucky State Police, Ohio County Sheriff’s Department, and Owensboro Police Department.
DCSO is asking for the public’s help in identifying any vehicles seen in the parking lot of the Rooster’s Crow between 4-5 p.m. on Wednesday.
