Once he arrives at the stadium, Logan Weedman quickly makes his way onto the field and briskly takes a lap to clear his head and familiarize himself with his surroundings. Two hours later, the right tackle for Tennessee Tech University makes quick work of whoever lines up across from him — a recurring outcome for the bruiser who allowed just three sacks during the 2025 season.

The routine has remained the same since Weedman became a starter in 2022, but his play reached a new level in 2025. He anchored a Tennessee Tech University offense that led the OVC-Big South in points per game (37.5) and powered a run game that averaged 187.5 yards per game.

The results included an 11-1 regular-season record, making the 2025 roster the winningest team in program history. The Owensboro native was also rewarded individually, earning Stats Perform 2025 FCS First Team All-American honors.

“I was really honored, honestly,” Weedman said. “I was kind of shocked. I didn’t expect to get recognized that highly this year for my performance. … It’s awesome to see from years past where we weren’t getting much recognition at all. It’s cool to see the effort we are putting in hasn’t been in vain.”

The accolades didn’t stop there, with the former Apollo Eagle also being named an AFCA FCS First-Team All-American, First-Team All-OVC Big South, OVC-Big South All-Academic Team, and AP FCS Honorable Mention All-American.

Now, with his college career complete, Weedman is gearing up for his NFL Pro Day, scheduled for either February or March.

“I think this last season for me has been different than all of the seasons before,” Weedman said. “I just felt I was at the top of the food chain. I was taking classes online, so I could put more time toward football. I could see it paying off on Saturdays whenever I could dominate on the field.”

Weedman appeared in only four games in 2021 before redshirting, but he quickly became a starter in 2022. Still, the early years of his college career didn’t meet expectations. That began to change when Bobby Wilder was named head coach ahead of the 2024 season.

“He came in and set the bar high,” Weedman said. “He said the standard is the standard, and that is something we have gone by daily, weekly, ever since — the standard is the standard.”

During Weedman’s first three seasons, the Golden Eagles compiled an 11-22 record. Under Wilder, Tennessee Tech went 7-5 in 2024, then shattered expectations in 2025, with the only regular-season loss being to the University of Kentucky. They eventually lost to North Dakota in the first round of the FCS playoffs.

“This is the most wins I have ever had in a season in my entire career, including all of my time in football. It was just awesome to be a part of,” Weedman said. “People at restaurants would congratulate us. Just seeing the fans show out every game as well. It was great to see the overall support I have had from family, friends, people from Owensboro, and from Cookeville.”

A shift in mindset played a key role in elevating his individual performance.

“I realized this could be my last year of football, and I needed to take advantage of it,” Weedman said. “My routines were also different. I was sleeping more, taking care of my body better, and it was showing off on gameday.”

His eyes now set on his upcoming NFL Pro Day, Weedman plans to prepare for Pro Day by training with Lee Smith, a former NFL tight end who spent 11 seasons in the league, most notably with the Buffalo Bills. Smith operates Triple F Elite Sports Training in Knoxville, Tennessee, where Weedman will work on strength and speed, along with nutrition and recovery.

“My younger self had high hopes of this, but I would have thought it was a long shot back then,” Weedman said. “Now it’s getting to be the time to where it is actually real, and I get my shot at the league. Back then it was just a thought, but now it can be a reality in just a few short months.”
