Daviess County Fiscal Court recognized five local organizations this week for their volunteer efforts in making Christmas at Panther Creek Park a success.
Representatives from the Moseleyville Fire Department, CASA of the Ohio Valley, the Joe Ford Nature Center, St. Joseph Peace Mission, and the Owensboro Catholic Schools Emerald Players were presented with checks during the Fiscal Court meeting.
Fiscal Court officials said Christmas at Panther Creek has been a county tradition for more than two decades, running annually from Black Friday through the first week of January.
During the 2025 season, 4,956 vehicles visited Panther Creek Park for the holiday light display, bringing an estimated 15,000 people through the park, officials said.
Each of the five participating organizations received $2,478 from funds collected during the event.
Fiscal Court officials thanked the organizations for their dedication and support, noting that their volunteer efforts helped families across the community enjoy the holiday lights and festive atmosphere at Panther Creek Park.
