Theatre Workshop of Owensboro is bringing back one of its most popular events this spring, inviting performers of all kinds to compete in Owensboro’s Got Talent for a chance to win cash prizes.

The competition will begin with its first preliminary round on May 9, followed by a second round on May 23. The grand finale is scheduled for June 6.

Organizers say the event is open to a wide variety of acts, including singers, musicians, ventriloquists, tumblers, and more.

All contestants must register in advance. Registration is available through theatreworkshop.org by selecting “Buy Tickets,” or through the Theatre Workshop of Owensboro’s Facebook page. A $5 registration fee is required.

“Owensboro’s Got Talent provides a unique opportunity for performers of all types to share their talents,” said Calli Whitmore, executive director of Theatre Workshop of Owensboro. “It allows members of the audience to play a part, as they vote for their favorites. The generous prize money provided by the sponsor, FOUR SEASONS HEATING AND COOLING, is an added incentive and a bonus for the eventual winners of the competition.”

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three performers, with $1,250 going to the grand prize winner. Second place will receive $750, and third place will earn $500. The prize money is sponsored by Four Seasons Heating and Cooling.
