The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Owensboro Police Department worked with federal agencies today to serve several search warrants related to a large drug trafficking organization. Officials say meth, fentanyl, cocaine, firearms, and more have been seized.
Daviess County Sheriff Brad Youngman said the case began months ago.
“Several months ago, area law enforcement began investigating a large-scale drug trafficking organization based in Owensboro-Daviess County,” he said. “Today, those agencies worked together to take down several target locations, execute search warrants and make arrests, resulting in seizures of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and other drugs, as well as several firearms and vehicles used in the distribution of illegal narcotics. It’s always great to see this many agencies from the federal, state, and local levels come together to work for the good of the community and achieve these types of results.”
Youngman said DCSO detectives and federal agents are still working together to conduct interviews of multiple suspects and persons of interest who were detained.
OPD said no other information was available at the time of publication but that more details were expected to be released later today.
