The Daviess County Clerk’s Office is seeking additional poll workers to help staff voting locations during the upcoming May 19 primary election.
Poll workers are used to help ensure voting runs smoothly, from checking in voters to assisting with equipment and maintaining order at polling sites throughout the county.
Poll workers may work during early voting or on Election Day, which runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 19.
The Clerk’s Office aims for a 50% split by party to ensure there is equal representation. Those interested in becoming a poll worker can contact the Daviess County Clerk’s Office at 270-240-5771 for more information or to sign up. Residents can also reach out directly to their party representative — Democrats can call 270-929-6292, while Republicans can call 270-993.4457.
Early voting will take place May 14-16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. exclusively at the Owensboro Sportscenter, located at 1215 Hickman Avenue.
Voters can cast a ballot at any of the county’s 14 polling locations on Election Day. Those locations include:

The deadline to register to vote in the primary is April 20, while the portal to request absentee ballots is open through May 5.
