John P. "Twiggy" Pace

November 9, 1948 - September 30, 2018

John P. “Twiggy” Pace, Jr., passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on November 9, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska to John P. Pace and Donnabelle C. Pace.

Twiggy was a 1966 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and Western Kentucky University, majoring in accounting. Twiggy enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, playing cards, going to horse races, and visiting casinos. He was a wrestler at Columbus High School in Waterloo, Iowa and his claim to fame was that Dan Gable, USA Olympic Gold Medalist, was unable to pin him in high school when both were wrestling in the 98-pound class. He gained his nickname “Twiggy” when his construction coworkers thought he resembled the London fashion model of the same name.

Twiggy is preceded in death by his father, John Sr. in 1989; his mother, Donna, in 2001 and by his nephews, John Ward in 2008 and Ryan Settles in 2012.
