Joyce Vance, 77, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice. She was born in Daviess County on February 3, 1941 to the late Leon Young and Lillie Tyler. She served at Mt. St. Joseph for more than 25 years. Joyce was a member of GracePointe Baptist Church where she led her Women’s Sunday School class. She enjoyed floral arranging, gardening, crafting, and cake decorating.
Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Gene Vance, and her sister, Lilia Case.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Ricky) Underwood of Louisville, Kentucky, Kevin Gene (Sarah) Vance of Evansville, Indiana, grandchildren: Heather, Ashley; great-grandchildren: Austin, Danny, Madilynn, and Raylee.
Services will be 12:00 pm Monday, October 8, 2018 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, with Brother Mitch officiating. Burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday and again 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
