Mary Elizabeth Houle, 82, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Mary was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Daviess County to the late Robert Lewis Morris and Katherine Celestine Connor. Mary worked various jobs in her lifetime, from nursing the elderly, a machine operator at General Electric and as a waitress at the Executive Inn.
She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral.
Mary enjoyed making Rosaries, going on trips, was known as an excellent seamstress and a true servant of the Lord.
She also was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Joseph Morris, William Bernard Morris and Martha Ann Morris.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Donald Gene Houle; two stepsons, Randy and Bobby Gunter; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Alvey; many grandchildren; brother, Vincent (Brenda) Morris; sister, Margaret Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at St. Stephen Cathedral. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 7 pm and after 10:30 am Tuesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
