Patricia Ann Marksberry

September 18, 1945 - October 4, 2018

Patricia Ann Marksberry, 73, died Thursday, October 4, in Knoxville, Tennessee surrounded by family. The only daughter of the late David and Mildred Sneed, Pat was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on September 18, 1945.

As a young girl, Pat’s family moved to Kentucky where she later met her husband, John, at Western Kentucky University. She devoted her time to being a housewife and loving mother to her children, Carol and John David, until entering the workforce as they grew older. She then enjoyed a 15-year career with the Daviess County Sheriffs Office as an Administrative Assistant.

Pat enjoyed watching her children grow into accomplished adults who enjoyed successful careers. She was especially proud of her grandson, Seth, and his academic success at the Gatton Academy and Purdue University. She also enjoyed shopping, her four-legged “kids”, Sammy and Mandy, and traveling. She particularly loved vacationing on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband of 36 years, John D. Marksberry, Sr. She is survived by her children John D. Marksberry, Jr. (Sarah) and Theresa Carol Marksberry (Paul), her grandson, Seth M. Marksberry, step-granddaughters Shelby Clark (Tyler), Katherine Ryan, Emmalee Richeson (Alan), step-great grandsons Everett Richeson and Jackson Clark, brothers-in-law Harvey Marksberry (Marilyn), and Jack Marksberry (Joyce), a sister-in-law, LeAnn Marksberry, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Per her final wishes, Pat wished to be cremated, and her passing to be marked by a private service for immediate family and their spouses.
