William Stephen “Bill” Johnston, age 82 of Custer, KY passed away April 21, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Shelby County, KY on August 10, 1939, the son of the Frank K. and Mary Ruth Moore Johnston. Bill was a member of Madrid Pentecostal Church and Hudson Masonic Lodge. He was a farmer who enjoyed all things outdoors – fishing, hunting and gardening. He was an avid UK basketball fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Karl and Lawrence Johnston.

4 grandchildren: Amanda Wood (Tyler), Matthew Stephen Johnston (Ashlee), Jacob Kennedy and Amber DeAnn Johnston
3 great grandchildren: Cameron, Madison and Logan Wood.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 11 AM with burial in the Cook Cemetery near Custer, KY. Visitation will be held on Monday, 4-8 PM and Tuesday after 8:30 AM.
