
CENTRAL CITY, KY., Freddie Clay Smith, Jr., 55, of Central City passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. He was born in Ohio County on June 3, 1966 the son of Freddie Clay Smith, Sr. and Mary Alice Griffin Groves. He was the maintenance manager at Willow Creek Mobile Home Park. He attended the Cathedral of Hope Church in Greenville. He liked to fish, and loved his grandchildren and his dog, Shorty.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife Misty Dawn Shemwell Smith of Central City, his daughter April (Daniel) Brothers of White Plains, his mother Mary Alice Groves of Central City, 2 grandchildren Kelcie and Karsin Brothers, 2 brothers Billy (Christy) Smith of Central City and Dustin (Macy) Smith of Bremen, 5 sisters Jane Smith of South Carrollton, Sherry Neal of Central City, Renae (Casey) Drake of Drakesboro, Denisha (Andrew) Stanley of Greenville, and Christina Christman of Camden, TN., many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after 10:00 AM on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville until time of service at 11:00 AM.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. At his request, Freddie will rest in his favorite fishing hole.
